Today’s show featured the new recording by the Orchid Ensemble, who played a show in Montreal, and an interview and music with Vinay Bhide, who performed in Ottawa on the weekend, as part of a fundraising concert for the expanding Indian music program at Carleton U. Some music for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  A special note should also be made of a terrific 5 disc set of live recordings by Sviatoslav Richter.  For 25 bucks you get recordings from Moscow of Schubert’s late sonatas  D.894 and D.960, 5 of the six last Beethoven sonatas, the Liszt sonata, and some other Beethoven and Schubert sonatas.  A terrific deal for some of the greatest pieces in the repertoire played by this supreme pianist.
