Today’s show marked the second time already this year where we pay tribute to the passing of a great Indian musician, and Ustad Vilayat Khan was truly one of the greatest of the last 50 years. The undisputed leader of the Sitar in Hindusthani music, Vilayat Khan came from one of the most illustrious families in Hindusthani music. He died March 13. His son, Shuujat Hussain Khan is given the last 45 minutes of the show in two pieces which I believe make a beautiful farewell to his father.
